Position overview

Position title: Lecturer in Summer Session

Salary range: A reasonable estimate for an initial appointment is $68,247. See  Unit 18 Lecturer table for the salary range for this position. For current appointees, normal compensation will be based on the annual salary of the Unit 18 faculty NSF in effect as of June 30 of the calendar year in which summer session begins. Salary is prorated in accordance instructional workload calculation.

Summer Session A: 5/26/2025
Summer Session B: 6/22/2025
Summer Session C: 7/6/2025
Summer Session D: 5/26/2025

Position description

The School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts seeks a lecturer(s) to teach courses in Spanish Language for Summer 2025 Sessions. Courses being offered may include but not limited to:

Elementary Spanish I
Spanish for Heritage Speakers I
Corridos: Literary Narratives

In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor is responsible for creating a syllabus, holding weekly office hours (2 hours/week), and grading examinations and/or papers.

This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Qualifications

Basic qualifications Advanced degree in Spanish language or Literature and experience teaching at the college or university level are required. Must be able to provide a record of excellence in teaching.
