Under the direction of the Branch Chief, Office of Health and Safety (OHS), a Staff Services Manager I, the incumbent will independently manage the Department's Injury and Illness and Workplace Violence databases to track employee injuries and illnesses in compliance with Cal/ OSHA regulations, manage the workplace violence incidents and reporting database, track vehicle accidents, and administer the Department's Maintenance Safety Incentive Award program. The incumbent will provide technical expertise in resolving complex tasks and developing statistical reporting. Create and maintain databases, dashboards, and data collection tools using Microsoft Power Platform tools (Share Point, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Bl). Additionally, the incumbent will manage the intranet website for the OHS and perform trainings on safety and health topics.
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Associate Governmental Program Analyst exam. This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
